Meet Shannon and Davis Blomquist
Braden and I were lucky enough to have first met Shannon and Davis last year and even luckier to have been chosen (by the beautiful bride and groom themselves) to photograph their rustic Foresthill California wedding.
When we first embarked on this journey with them, their wedding day seemed so far away...
We first met them at a little at Starbucks in Roseville and I knew right away, that they were exactly who I wanted to photograph!
Every once in a while, for reasons that you may never be able to explain, you will be lucky enough to have a person brought into your life that you know, beyond any reasonable doubt, was meant to be there!
A short time later we decided on the perfect location for an engagement session!
Empire Mine in Grass Valley!
Empire Mine is an equally incredibly amazing place to photograph a wedding or an engagement. This venue is one of if the most incredible, affordable and beautiful venues in Northern California.
Davis was great, Shannon might have been a little nervous, we walked and talked and photographed... and had whole bunch of laughs.

Shannon and Davis decided on the incredible Forest House Lodge in Foresthill California as the venue and reception site for their rustic summer wedding.
The Forest House Lodge is one of the most desired venues in all of Northern California, and for good reason!
The ceremony took place at the Forest House Lodge ceremony site, nestled among the pines, with breathtaking views overlooking the American River Canyon, in the Sierra Nevada Foothills of Foresthill California. Amazing!!
The Forest House also has this perfect bridal “salon” where Shannon and her bridesmaids got ready. This place is fabulous you have to see it to believe it!
Before the wedding, I reminded them to relax on their wedding day... to spend the last few days stressing and worrying and planning... But when the wedding day comes, relax.
It is the one thing I see most consistently, Brides and grooms worry so much about making everything perfect and trying to make everyone else happy, that they forget to stop and just enjoy their wedding day.
I wish that all the days ahead be as happy as this day with many more reasons to celebrate a lifetime of happiness and love.
Forest House Lodge’s in-house cake-decorating studio, Cakes by Monica, offers an array of custom-designed wedding cakes for your reception.
The Forest House also features a top chef on call featuring fabulous plated, family style or even buffet style meal. It was delicious!
We can’t say enough about the staff either. They were helpful, attentive and great to work with.
The attention to detail is probably what stands out the most. Ever aspect of the day has been planned and perfectly prepared. Even the individual rooms and restrooms have been stocked full of every amenity you might need. From mouthwash to Q-tips and everything in between. The Forest House Lodge has definitely earned its place as one of Northern California’s most desired wedding destinations!
To kick of the evening celebration the Blomquists and the bridal party planned the most entertaining entrance we have ever seen! DJ Bobby of DYNAMIKsoundz DJ and Lighting did an outstanding job as usual.
Everyone was laughing and cheering!
These two stole our hearts and we feel so incredibly honored to have not only spent the day with them but to watch their love grow, and to build a friendship along the way. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. This... is why we do what we do!
